United Kingdoms MP for Stockton South, Paul Williams, has provoked anger after he urging the International Development Secretary to tell Ugandas President Museveni to leave power.
He said the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) should be used as an opportunity to tell Mr Museveni, president since 1986, that "it's time to go".
Mr. Williams claims that Mr Museveni has become a "barrier to Uganda's development".
Stockton South MP's statement caused outrage after the Senior Press Secretary in the president's office, Don Wanyama, responded submissively saying he "possesses a colonial mentality where he thinks Western metropolis should determine what happens in Africa" and he should show "Ugandans some respect" because they know "what is best for us".
Mr. Wanyama also said "we might have failed on colonialism but we shall resist neo-colonialism".
Uganda's president has be criticised for overstaying in power and gagging his opponents through undemocratic ways.
