The High Commission for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Nairobi, Kenya, says Consulate in Uganda ceased functioning following the death of Honorary Consul Boney Katatumba, Angella's father.

A honorary consulate is designated by a foreign government to look after the affairs of their citizens in foreign countries.

The Pakistan High Commission in Nairobi notes that its government "has not yet appointed a new Honorary Consul in Uganda" and that the one currently operating in Uganda under Ms. Katatumba "has no legal authority at all".

The Ugandan government has been urged to notify all concerned authorities, adding that "no consular documents issued by anyone in the name of Consulate of Pakistan maybe accepted"

The document dated 13th March 2018, comes to light after the singer was involved in a brawl at restaurant in Kampala where she sustained injuries.
