Uganda deports two foreigners for compromising national security
Two foreigners from Rwanda and France have been deported for allegedly compromising national security.
The police spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday that security agencies have been investigating the two foreigners who were working in a leading mobile telecom company.
A French national Olivier Prentout and Rwandan national Annie Tabura are accused of 'engaging in acts which compromise national security'.
The pair has been working with MTN Uganda -- holding top position in the multi-billion telecom company.
"We strongly believe that the deportation of the two foreigners, who were using their employment as tools to achieve their ill motives, has enabled us to disrupt their intended plans of compromising our national security."
Police authorities have urged people to 'remain alert' and continue to help security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.
Uganda has beefed up its security at all border points following an al-Shabaab attack in Nairobi, Kenya.
