Apparently, the seeds will be supplied by a weed company in the Netherlands, a country believed to be one of the world's leading marijuana suppliers.

“The order of the seeds represents an important milestone towards growing cannabis on a farm in Uganda and marketing products to a Canadian customer by the beginning of next year,”Times of Israel quotes Together CEO Nissim Bracha.

Limited research shows the marijuana treats muscle spasms, seizure disorders, reduce nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy, improve appetite in people with HIV/AIDS.

The marijuana industry is estimated to be in hundreds of billions of dollars but the exact value worldwide remains unexplained as the vast majority of the market remains illicit.

Sales of legal marijuana are expected to grow to more than $20 billion by 2022.
