The ultimatum comes days after issuing a stern warning over the same issue in a memo.

“If you're a member of public and you know you have these clothes, you have one week to take them to nearest police station otherwise when the operations begin, you will be charged accordingly. When we come to you, we shall use the law,” police deputy spokesperson Patrick Onyango said.

Police allege that these camouflage uniforms or similar clothes are being used by some people to perpetrate crime and causing the general public to think that the criminals are security personnel.

“People who are putting on uniform similar to forces have been involved in criminality and we want to see how to avoid it,” police deputy spokesperson Patrick Onyango said.

Camouflage uniforms or similar clothes are popular among musicians whether in their music videos or daily lives.

Notably, during the burial of the late singer Mowzey Radio, who was buried in clothes similar to camouflage uniform, several artistes, including Jose Chameleone, turned up wearing camouflage uniform.
