The prison escapee was arrested at about 2AM on Tuesday in Rwashamaire by Police Flying Squad after a tip by the locals.

He is one of two suspects who escaped from Masaka Court last month together with Muhammad Kidawalime who was killed by a mob this month in Kalungu District.

Mr. Galiwango, who faces charges of murder, robbery and terrorism, is undergoing treatment at Mbarara Hospital amid heightened security.

Commissioner of Prisons Johnson Byabashaija has described the arrest of the second court escapee as "mission accomplished".

Police authorities placed a bounty of UGX10m for each of the two suspects who escaped from court.

The two were part of machete wielding gang which terrorized people in the areas of Greater Masaka since last year.
