Ugandas President Kaguta Museveni will address Parliament on Wednesday, 20th June, his office has confirmed.
The president is expected to address Members of Parliament on several issues, most importantly the security situation in the country after the Speaker accepted his request.
The presidential address comes days after the assassination of his loyal and NRM stalwart MP Ibrahim Abiriga. He was killed together with his brother by gunmen riding a motorcycle.
The special sitting of Parliament was requested by the president during the reading of the national budget for 2018/2019 FY.
During the State of The Nation Address last week, Museveni reiterated that the killers of his loyal MP are "pigs and cowards".
"For me, I am sad angry but I am confident that we are going to defeat these pigs." he said.
Museveni is expected to address on other issues, including the recent kidnaps and murder of women and children in the country.
