Ugandas President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Duke of Cambridge Prince William briefly met on Thursday to discuss wildlife conservation at the sidelines of the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in the United Kingdom.

Their critical discussion on wildlife comes barely weeks after a pride of 8 cubs and 3 lionesses was found dead after suspicious meat poisoning by the locals in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Mr. Museveni and Prince William agreed to "do more to conserve wildlife" and focus on developing a "critical mass of youth" who will be able to progressively and analytically create wealth.

Last year, the Duke of Cambridge warned of a possible wildlife catastrophe and urged people to “work harder and think deeper” to safeguard iconic creatures against man-made threats.

Uganda is home to about 400 lions and each averagely generates about UGX50m annually.
