MP who hosted Bobi Wine in Kenya blocked from attending his concert
Kenyan politician Babu Owino is reportedly not welcome to Uganda ahead of his friend -- Bobi Wines Kyarenga Concert on Saturday.
The Embakasi East MP hosted Wine, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi, in October at different functions and rallies in several pockets of Kenya's capital, Nairobi.
In a letter dated November 8, Uganda's minister of internal affairs says Owino "uttered inflammatory and seditious words against the democratic and legitimate rule of H.E President Yoweri Museveni".
Minister JJ Odongo says Owino has been declared as "persona non grata within the borders of Uganda".
The Kenya politician will not be allowed in the country without special clearance from the Ugandan government.
In August, when Wine was brutally arrested and detained in a military facility, Owino vowed to lead fellow Kenyan MPs to demonstrate in Uganda's capital, Kampala, demanding his release.
Demand for an apology
Late August after the release of Bobi Wine, the Ugandan government wrote to Owino and other Kenyan MPs demanding an apology.
Ugandan MPs claimed that their neighbouring legislators abused President Museveni in the process.
The Embakasi lawmaker took to social media to say "Museveni should back off" in response to the demands.
