Pearl Beauty pageant Uganda organisers have been cast in bad light after they savagely awarded an old car as grand prize to Miss Pearl 2018 Patricia Namirimu.
The country wide beauty pageant, which has been characterised by shadiness and poor organisation, saw about 40 girls contesting for the crown -- 20 of which were dropped during a boot camp and 19 making it to the finals.
Beauty pageant contestants were representing various regions in Uganda as they showcased their regional cultural virtues through fashion, dance and runway artistry.
Nkumba University student Patricia Namirimu was crowned winner of the beauty pageant over the weekend and was prized with a Raum car which was visibly old with semblance of having moved many miles.
Organisers of the beauty pageant said they didn't have sufficient funds to buy a new car but they 'at least managed to pull off the event and even buy a car'.
The 7 months Miss Pearl 2018 search was about finding one beauty that stood out among the rest in eight different regions of the country.
