Gen Muhoozi is turning 49 today, Monday, April 24.

He arrived at Kigali International Airport on Sunday evening and was flanked by a number of government officials and members of his inner circle.

Two cabinet Ministers, Hon Jim Muhwezi (Security) and Norbert Mao (Justice and Constitutional Affairs) were part of the entourage.

Others who travelled with the General aboard a Ugandan Airlines chartered flight include Kitgum Woman MP, Lillian Aber, and journalist and entrepreneur, Andrew Mwenda.

Muhoozi announced earlier this month that he would celebrate his 49th birthday in Rwanda.

In Kigali, Muhoozi was received by Major General Willy Rwagasana, the Commander of the Republican Guard.

The general is expected to meet with Rwandan leader, Paul Kagame, today.

President Kagame attended Muhoozi’s 48th birthday last year in Uganda in an event that was hosted by President Yoweri Museveni.

Muhoozi’s trip comes just days after he hosted a thanksgiving event in Kabale district where citizens of both countries met to celebrate the resumption of vibrant activity at the Katuna Border.

The border between Rwanda-Uganda was reopened in March last year after three years of closure, following different discussions between both countries mainly championed by Kainerugaba.
