Reports indicate that the military in a joint operation with the Special Forces Command, the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence and Internal Security Organisation, searched Courtyard and Sky Blue hotels in Lyantonde where he usually frequents.

The security personnel cordoned off the hotel premises and temporary house arrested hotel staff and searched demanding to know the whereabouts of the former IGP, according to PML Daily.

The intention to arrest him is not yet known.

Kayihura was sacked as IGP in March together with the Minister of Security Henry Tumukunde.
