The statement says Kayihura is still a serving officer of the UPDF and has been staying in Lyantonde ever since he handed over office.

Brig. Richard Karemire, the military spokesperson, reveals that the former IGP was asked to report before Gen. Muhoozi in Mbuya.

"A helicopter was subsequently dispatched to transport him from there but on arrival, Gen. Kale had travelled to Mbarara and so it had to return to Entebbe Airforce Base," Brig. Karemire says.

He adds that the chopper was sent back to Lyantonde and "has returned safely with him on board".
