Makerere VC reacts after student exposed "errant" administrator

The Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, in his first reaction after a senior administrator was exposed over sexual harassment, has applauded the student who filed complaint.

Prof. Nawangwe praised Ms. Njoroge Racheal for her "courage in exposing the errant officer" and encouraged all harassed students to report such cases promptly in efforts to "stamp this vice out of Makerere".

Ms. Njoroge filed complaints to the university authorities claiming that she was harassed sexually when the administrator started 'kissing her thighs' and 'private parts'.

Mr. Kisuze was suspended from all university activities after university authorities set up a committee to investigate and establish what exactly happened.

This is the latest sexual harassment allegation from Uganda's oldest university as top leadership continues to lay framework to curb the vice.
