Ugandas capital, Kampala, is among the best cities offering the best quality of life in Africa according to the annual Mercers survey 2018.
Mercer's survey, which ranked 231 cities across the world, aims at helping companies and organisation to determine compensation and hardship allowances for international staff.
Kampala ranks 172 globally and 11th in Africa ahead of Kigali, Cairo, Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Dar es Salaam.
The survey is based on six factors; political stability, health care, education, crime, recreation and transport.
South African city of Durban ranks 1st in offering best quality of life in Africa -- but ranks 89th globally. It's followed by Cape Town and Johannesburg which rank 94th and 95th globally -- and Victoria city of Seychelles comes in the fourth place ranking 98th globally.
Austria’s capital Vienna ranks 1st in the best quality of life in the world for the 9th year in a row while Iraq’s capital Baghdad remains the worst.
