I'm afraid of the way government is conducting itself - Bobi Wine
Bobi Wine, who has been described as the new face of Ugandas opposition, arrived in the country on Thursday after spending almost three weeks in the US undergoing treatment.
The legislator told the BBC on Thursday that he is recovering "slowly by slowly" and hopes to be better in a couple of weeks.
"In a few weeks, I should be back to my legs," he said before boarding from Nairobi to Uganda.
However, the 36-year-old lawmaker is uncertain and fearful of President Museveni's government following the recent incidents in the country, including arrest and unlawful detention of opposition figures and supporters.
"Yes, I'm afraid because the way the government is conducting itself is very worrying," Wine said.
He adds: "The government is evidently panicking because they have never seen so many people united and speaking with one voice. We don't carry weapons, we are just free citizens".
Wine was arrested shortly after landing in the East African country and whisked away in a police van to his home in Magere amid heavy deployment.
Running for the presidency?
Bobi Wine has continued to play down ambitions of running for the presidency in the next presidential election in 2021.
He reiterated that his cause and political movement is not about him becoming president of Uganda -- a nation which has had one president since 1986.
The Ugandan MP said that running for the presidency is "not something I'm thinking about how" but rather his freedom and liberty as a Ugandan citizen.
"That's the first of my priorities...I want to be a free Ugandan in my own home," Wine said.
