The event, which featured Akon as the headliner alongside Burna Boy and Kevin Hart, took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

In a TikTok post, the Kids expressed their gratitude: "We had a beautiful show this year with @AKON thanks so much brother for thsi beautiful opportunity you given to us 🙏❤️."

The group had earlier shared the exciting news on TikTok, accompanied by a video of them spending time with Akon, who has previously visited Uganda.

In 2021, Senegalese-American musician Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, popularly known as Akon, along with his wife, Rozina Negusei, met with President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni at their country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District. According to the president's social media posts, Akon was exploring business opportunities in sectors such as energy, tourism, and infrastructure development.

"Mr Aliaune Thiam (@Akon) and his wife have come to Uganda in search of business opportunities in a number of sectors like energy, tourism, and infrastructure development. I am happy to engage in such a discussion that will uplift our people and Africa at large," President Museveni noted. Akon was accompanied by Ugandan singer Moses Ssali, also known as Bebe Cool, during his visit to Rwakitura. While in Kampala, Akon met Mufti Sheikh Shaban Mubaje.

In 2023, Hypers Kids Africa surprised Ugandans when they hosted American rapper Daniel Hernandez, professionally known as 6ix9ine, for the shoot of his music video Wapae.

Led by founder Moses Butindo, who established the group in 2014, Hypers Kids Africa consists of 42 children living together, primarily engaged in dancing, football, and acrobatics. Butindo shared in 2023 that they have collaborated with several other celebrities, including Chris Brown, Neymar, Ronaldinho Gaucho, and Léo Santana.

Rapper Kapilipiti Omubaya is also set to perform at the same event alongside Akon, Burna Boy, and Kevin Hart.
