Hospital which French Montana helped to build is near completion

Last year, American rapper French Montana pledged to build a maternity centre in Uganda and donated $100,000 encouraging both his peers, friends and fans to do the same.

He partnered with Mama Hope and birthed the #UnforgettableDanceChallenge which aimed at raising funds for ambulances, premature incubators, cribs, and a blood bank for Suubi "Hope" Health Center expansion.

The health facility in located in Jinja District in the Busoga Sub-Region of Eastern Uganda.

Suubi Health Center shared the progress of the construction of some facilities on social media.

Its antenatal/ mini-theatre wing is close to completion and will have 3Kw of solar energy installed soon.

The facility which will house C-Section operations for safe deliveries is almost complete.

The health centre is expected to serve over 300,000 people upon completion -- at the moment, a section of the facility is in operation.

Last week, over 1,000 people received their Hepatitis B vaccination from this health centre.
