The government has declared Friday, 15th June, a public holiday.

In a statement, the Minister of Public Service says "either tomorrow Friday 15th or Saturday 16th is Eid-el-Fitr and will be observed as a public holiday throughout Uganda".
The statement comes hours after Uganda Muslim Supreme Councilannounced that the moon has been sighted declaring Eid-el-Fitr celebrations will be tomorrow.
