4-year-old girl falls into a pot of hot soup

The tragic incident occurred on Friday in one of the restaurants in Pępowo near Gostyń. The emergency services were notified that a child had fallen into a cauldron of hot soup.

An LPR helicopter from Zielona Góra was called to the scene and transported the child to the Wielkopolska Burn Treatment Center in Ostrów Wlkp.

The police in Gostyń learned about the case only on Saturday, because no one reported the incident. An investigation team was sent to the site to determine the circumstances.

It turned out that the owner's daughter ran into the restaurant's kitchen and fell into a cauldron of hot soup. This boiler was put on the ground for a while, the spokeswoman said.

Doctors informed the police that the girl suffered second- and third-degree burns that covered 40% of her body surface. According to preliminary findings, it was an unfortunate accident.
