He says the historical move to donate several awards to Uganda Museum and Uganda Wildlife Authority is aimed at inspiring the youth.

The singer urged government and media to support their own musicians.

"In this generation, music sells the country a lot. I want to urge the media to spread the good news of our music. I also urge the government to support us. This is not a blaming game; I'm not blaming the government but this is a wakeup call. I might have suffered to get all these awards but I want things to be easier for the coming generation. When they were awarding the Nickelodeon award, over 80,000 people worldwide were watching -- we now have it in our country. Government should wake up and do something. I don't want this to end with me," he said.

Uganda Tourism Board Executive Director Steven Asiimwe unofficially declared 5 of April Uganda Tourism Artistes day.

“Unofficially, we shall put it (5th April) on our calendar and we shall be coming to the museum to celebrate our artistes and inspire the young people,” he said.

Notably, Kenzo won his first ever Kid’s Choice Awards organized by Nickelodeon after beating Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), athlete Caster Semenya (South Africa), singer Davido (Nigeria), comedian Emmanuella (Nigeria), and singer Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania).

Eddy Kenzo arrived in the country yesterday after a series of music shows in the United Kingdom and Netherlands.
