The students of Nkoma Secondary School in Mbale District were suspended after school authorities associated their nicknames to an act of indiscipline.

The nicknames included Missed Call, Big Foot, Robot, Chemical, Fake Dollar, Land Mine, Diesel, Voltage, Headex, Twine Temper, War Girl, Criminal, Smart Wire and Cash PRO. Others include Cobra, Maje and Cash Prince, among others.

Nkoma Secondary School headteacher Yakoub Mwesigwa said the students had replaced their real names with nicknames even on the class register sheets.

They received suspension letters from school authorities and were directed not to report back to school after the end of the Easter break.
