In an interview with Amara Bill Kevin in 2016, Kay narrated her start and rise to fame through her photography.

"In 2013, I started my journey in photography. “Martha, what gift can I buy you for your birthday?” Diana queried.

Erm, I don’t know. I replied. In classic female rhetoric. Diana being my elder and only sister, I didn’t really have to stress her much. Besides my parents were taking full care of me.

After a thoughtful pause, I asked her for a tab (like an iPad) so that I could begin taking better photos for my blog and also up my selfie game. I noticed that in my alone moments, I had endlessly been scouring the internet for inspirational quotes. This had become routine. I also noticed that the inspirational quotes were not cast (designed) on some lonely whitespace. Actually, the quotes were laid over pictures of beautiful flowers, landscapes, and people.

I had an eye for beauty and design and knew to inspire people with similar predispositions as mine, I had to learn the craft.

That’s how I got my first DSLR camera: a Nikon 3100. Such a humbling moment. At least I now had an extra-curricular activity I could take on.

I sought inspiration from everywhere. I read, I searched, I meditated, I observed. But most nuanced were the Christian inspirations I found on the internet. Such a crowded place but an interesting platform. The internet is all about knowing what kind of content you want at the end of the day. Bliss."
