A British national has died mysteriously after collapsing during an adventurous tour with his friends in the hills of Kabale District.
Mukesh Shukla, 60, was with other three colleagues who travelled from United Kingdom for an adventurous trip in Kabale, one of the country’s tourism destinations.
The four checked in at Bunyonyi Resort along the shores of Lake Bunyonyi on Friday before embarking on their adventurous trip.
The area police spokesperson Elly Maate said the four tourists were touring a pygmy site in Butanda sub-county – where Shukla collapsed from.
“As they were walking, the colleagues realized that Shukla had collapsed. They tried to rush him to Kabale regional referral hospital but unfortunately, he died on the way,” he said
It is believed that Mukesh Shukla died while in transit to Kabale Referral Hospital where the body is now undergoing postmortem.
“They called for an ambulance that took the body to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem to establish the cause of his death,” Maate said
Mukesh Shukla brings the number of foreigners who have died in the country since February to 8
