Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Bobi Wine has finally reported to Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala.
He led a small group of protesters in the CBD to protest against social media and mobile money taxes last week.
The legislator was summoned by police to answer charges of theft of police handcuffs, assault, and illegal assembly.
Bobi Wine was flanked by other opposition legislators including Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winnie Kiiza among others.
The entourage of opposition MPs marched from Parliament to the Central Police Station amid cheers from their supporters.
However, the Kyadondo East MP refused claims that the demonstrations he led in the CBD were unlawful. In his address on Sunday, he said they sought permission from the police as required by Public Order Management act.
Some people who were arrested during the protest are still in detention without any charges. They were also denied police bond.
