Singer Eddy Kenzo surprised masses last weej when he donated four awards; three to Uganda Museum and one to Uganda Wildlife Authority.
In a move Eddy Kenzo describes as one which is aimed at ‘inspiring the youths’, he donated one of his most prestigious award, the BET Award to Uganda Museum -- also donated two awards to the museum including an AFRIMMA award and Kunde award, which he won from Burkina Faso.
He became the first ever Ugandan to win the BET Award after defeating South Africa's Cassper Nyovest, Ghana's Mz Vee and George The Poet, MIC Lowry and Novelist in 2015.
BET International has now praised Eddy Kenzo for his historic and noble donation of his awards to the country’s collection centre of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance.
“The definition of being wealthy means sharing what you have been blessed to receive. @eddykenzo thank you for being such a wonderful example to follow,” BET posted on Instagram.
Eddy Kenzo is the second composer to donate something prestigious to Uganda Museum.
In 2017, the family of the late Prof George Wilberforce Kakoma, the composer of the National Anthem, has donated to the Uganda Museum his Bernhard Steiner piano.
