3 Ugandan soldiers killed by a mob near DRC border

Three UPDF soldiers have been killed by a mob after armed robbery allegations along Uganda, DRC border in Arua District.

The soldiers, identified as Corporal Julius Kobum, Lance Corporal Ibrahim Isingoma and Private Peter Ola, were attached to Vurra Customs Army Detach.

8 people have been arrested to help with the investigations -- they are in detention at Arua Central Police Station.

West Nile police spokesperson said they are establishing why the soldiers were several kilometres away from the detach, according to Daily Monitor.

Bodies of the deceased UPDF soldiers were taken to Arua Regional Referral Hospital for post-mortem.

Reports indicate that 3 guns were recovered from the scene of mob lynching.
