PRAU President Tina Wamala, who was addressing the media on Wednesday, October 25, at The Monitor Ltd Publications head offices in Kampala, said "learning will be at the forefront" of the symposium.
The event, which will run from November 6-10 at the Jinja Nile Resort, will end with the PRAU Excellence Awards.
The awards, which are in 15 categories, are aimed at recognising individuals, organizations, campaigns, and initiatives that have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and effectiveness in the field of public relations and communication.
Being held for the seventh edition, the Awards are under the theme 'The Role of Public Relations in Driving Organisational Performance'.
Speakers have been picked from different countries and they will share knowledge with about 300 guests that are expected from Uganda, Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan, among others.
Tina Wamala said that there is "no doubt that Uganda will set a high standard for the next country to host" and it will be a "thought-provoking event."
The symposium also offers an opportunity for PR and communication practitioners to enhance their skills, sharpen their knowledge and network, according to Wamala.
PRAU Excellence Awards, which will be handed out on Friday, November 10 -- will conclude the East African Public Relations Week which will run from November 6-10.
