Images from the function show a noticeably thinner and frailer Kutesa, prompting widespread speculation about his well-being.
The images highlighted the former minister’s noticeable weight loss, a thinner face, and a more aged appearance.
Kutesa appeared alongside family members at the event, sparking both sympathy and curiosity.
Reactions
Some users remarked on his diminished appearance, while others sent well wishes and expressed hope for his recovery, should his current state be health-related.
Some noted that the former minister was almost unrecognisable.
One wrote, “My brain kept saying, does this dude look familiar…where have I seen him before?"
Another user wrote, “What is eating him up,” while one Nsamba wrote, “Aging is inevitable.”
Others however noted that Mr Kutesa might have chosen to shed some weight.
Hon Kutesa is 75-years-old.
He served in President Yoweri Museveni’s government for over three decades, becoming one of the most prominent figures in Uganda’s diplomatic efforts.
As Foreign Affairs Minister, Kutesa played a key role in representing Uganda on the global stage, notably chairing the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.
