"Kyagulanyi is the biggest political comedian Uganda has ever had," Gashumba remarked during an appearance on the YouTube channel Megatron Media. "But he has benefitted from it. He is very rich."
Businessman and political commentator Frank Gashumba has described Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, as "the biggest political comedian in Uganda's history."

According to Gashumba, Bobi Wine, who is the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) — currently the largest opposition party in Uganda — is in politics primarily "to make money." Gashumba claimed that Wine's main goal is to maintain his status as the top opposition leader.
“He is fighting for one thing: to be the leader of the opposition,” said Gashumba, who also serves as Vice Chairman for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in the Central Region. “That’s what he is fighting for... Kyagulanyi doesn’t want to become president.”
Gashumba went further to assert that Bobi Wine is a project of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) government, suggesting that Wine was planted to weaken Dr. Kizza Besigye, a long-time opposition figure.
“It’s this government that brought him to counter Besigye... Kyagulanyi is an NRM project. Anyone who says otherwise, I have evidence,” he claimed. “Kyagulanyi is an NRM project. Do you still hear about Besigye?”
Gashumba argued that true opposition no longer exists in Uganda. He noted that a senior security officer told him that teargas stocks were expiring because it was no longer being used as frequently as before, when riots were more common.
He also warned young people against participating in demonstrations, pointing out that many opposition leaders who encourage them to protest have their families living abroad and remain unaffected by any unrest. Gashumba mentioned that Chairman Nyanzi, Bobi Wine's brother, confirmed to him that all of his family members reside outside Uganda.
