In a video shared on social media, Kusasira opened up about her ambition while giving a sneak peek into her manifesto for the legislative role. She started rallying for support while assuring the people that she was ready to vie for the post.

In 2019, her mobilisation efforts for the ruling party, the National Resistance Movement, would earn her the post of presidential advisor for Kampala affairs, charged with coordinating young people living in slum areas of Kampala.
Ahead of 2021 elections, she was one of the vocal celebrities who rallied for support for the incumbent president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Buikwe Woman MP post is currently occupied by Mutasingwa Diana Kagyenyi, a minister of state in the office of the vice-president. She is also a member of the National Resistance Movement.
