However, amidst the luxury and excess, the gomesi that Fabiola wore on the D-day left many awestruck.

According to Fabiola, the material from which the attire was stitched (by hand) was purchased from Istanbul, Turkey, weighing over 15 kgs pus the waist piece (Kitambala) which weighed over 7kgs.

Fabiola made these revelations on her Instagram page, in a post, through which she shared details about her recently concluded Kuhingira.

“On our recent Istanbul trip, my hubby bought me this Dolce and Gabbana Crystal fabric (weighed more than 15kgs) plus this pure silk fabric (used for Kitambala also Dolce and Gabbana and weighed 7kgs),” she noted.

“It had to be carried around in its own suitcase. So, when we got to Uganda, Kushona designers handstitched my gomesi for me. Although extremely heavy to walk around in, it was fabulous and my absolute favorite,” she added

“I woke up with a lot of cuts and bruises plus chest pain from carrying all the weight around (my mwenda was really heavy too because it was pure Swarovski crystals but not as heavy as the gomesi),” she further revealed.

Anita Fabiola dabbles in an esteemed figure on the social and entertainment scene. She is an actress, tourism ambassador, event host, business woman and former beauty queen.
