It could be said that millennials led to the boom in this industry. There have always been 'dobbi', laundry cleaning centres, and retail shop owners who knew all too well people's financial situations. But nothing like today's flourishing 'sectors'.

Let's dive into the other women raising millennials.

The laundry lady is a freelancer laundry cleaner who pops by at the agreed time of the month to wash weeks of work clothes for an agreed or varying pay. Everyone has a favourite but she has a list of clients in the area who appreciate her services. She is trusted and can access the house even in the absence of the owner.

The food lady is famous at the workplace and at home. You can eat on credit and pay as you earn or pay her in advance to bring you meals. She knows who you are and where you are with a few clues! Once in a while, you cheat on her by ordering food online.

The cleaning lady could be the laundry lady too or only concerned with other household chores. She usually does general cleaning but can be hired on a freelance basis to take care of day-to-day cleaning and organising.

Finding a salon lady can be a trial-and-error affair. She could be in the neighbourhood or in town. She knows your hair and how to handle your hair needs. She's there when you have an event to attend and want makeup and hairstyling.

She can extend her services on credit. She may make you her assistant sometimes but that is a small price to pay for comfort and security, right?

A good landlady is a godsend. A normal landlady is a life lesson. Where you live can feel like home where you banter and ask for rent extensions or like home but with a tough mother who forces you to get your finances in order and is a topic of the neighbourhood watch.
