Uganda's Roast and Rhyme returns to Jinja for 21st edition

Swangz Avenue is bringing back the highly anticipated Roast and Rhyme festival (#RoastAndRhyme) this July with its signature #NyamOnTheNile edition. The three-day event, known for its blend of music, food, and outdoor activities, will take place from July 5th to 7th in Jinja, Uganda, along the scenic Nile River.

A Blend of Music, Food, and Adventure

The festival kicks off on Friday, July 5th, at Living Waters Resort with a "Night Club in the Woods" experience featuring top DJs. Saturday offers a full day of adventure with activities like bungee jumping, zip-lining, and boat cruises on the Nile. The main event on Saturday evening will be held at Across the Nile Resort, featuring games, meat roasting, live music by Ugandan artists and DJs, and festivities continuing into the early hours.

The weekend concludes with a relaxing all-white Sunday service brunch at Living Waters Resort, complete with free food, cocktails, and live music overlooking the Nile.

New Venues

This year's Nyam On The Nile edition introduces two new venues located on the Njeru side of Nalubale Road. These venues offer scenic views and a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for the festival's blend of music and adventure.

Living Waters Resort – Positioned approximately 1.5 km along Nalubale Road, this resort provides a beautiful riverside setting for the opening night and the Sunday brunch.

Across the Nile Resort – Situated about 1 km from the roundabout on Nalubale Road, this venue will host Saturday's main event, offering ample space for games, meat roasting, and live performances.

Directions: When coming from Kampala, before crossing the main bridge, take a right turn at the roundabout onto Nalubale Road. Continue for about 1 km to reach Across the Nile Resort and about 1.5 km to reach Living Waters Resort.

The festival takes place in Jinja, often called Uganda's adventure capital. Nestled along the Nile, Jinja offers attendees a chance to experience the city's breathtaking scenery and adventurous activities, adding to the overall festival experience.

Roast and Rhyme is known for its delicious food and live music. Festivalgoers can indulge in various grilled meats and other delicacies while enjoying performances by top Ugandan artists. This combination, set against the backdrop of the Nile River, creates a unique and memorable experience.

Tickets and Information

Tickets are available through the FlexiPay App or mobile money (*291#). An all-weekend pass starts at UGX 150,000 for early birds and UGX 200,000 at the gate. Single-day passes are also available for UGX 100,000.
