Azawi and Spice Diana are both good artists - Viboyo

The debate on who performed better this year between artistes Azawi and Spice Diana has been ongoing on different social media platforms, especially after the recently concluded Janzi Awards, where Azawi was awarded the Artist of the Year and Album of the Year categories and Spice Diana won nothing in all the categories that she was nominated.

After this incident, Spice Diana took to social media, ranting and criticising the awards organisers and their procedure of awarding the winners in different categories. She urged organisers to stop organising awards that pull other people and their brands down.

“If you feel like Spice is not talented and doesn’t deserve any Ugandan award, please do not put me in your awards anywhere. And you won’t see me complain and begging to nominate me anywhere, No No No No!” she posted.

“If I deserve it I will get it and if I don’t deserve it, I won’t get it. My career, my future is not based on the awards. With or without the awards, I am still gonna achieve and do music and I will still perform for my fans.” Spice Diana added.

However, Swangz Avenue’s legendary artist Viboyo says the two musicians performed very well this year and have managed to raise the Ugandan flag musically.

"These two, Azawi and Spice Diana are both great artists and friends to me, I love and respect both of their crafts and personalities. I also believe each one of them has their strengths, and have worked with both on several beautiful projects. This year has been ruled by ladies and these two are some of the creme de la cremes," Viboyo posted

Spice Diana on Friday said that she is not beefing with Azawi and that her statements were directed to the organisers of different awards that don’t favor the interests of a musician.
