Douglas Lwanga named his four favourite songs of 2023.

They are Nana by Joshua Baraka, Salary (Ugaboys featuring Selecta Jeff), Wanawankya (Bentiboys Africa) and Party (Alien Skin).

The video of Nana, at 3.3 million views, is among the most watched Ugandan music videos this year. It was directed by Prnz. The remix featuring King Promise, Joeboy and Bien of Sauti Sol also has over 1.1 million views.

Joshua Baraka is among the new artistes who have done well in 2023. He has a wonderful collaboration with Winnie Nwagi titled Omukwano and another song featuring Magixx titled No Lie.

On Tuesday, December 5, he dropped a new Extended Play titled Growing Pains and it has songs seven songs, namely Shine, Dalilah (featuring Axon), No Lie (with Magixx), Ninda, Moonlight (featuring Yaw Tog), Dreams and Nana (the remix).

Selecta Jeff featured on Ugaboys’ Salary which became popular on social media and in bars.

It was produced by Dny Beats. The song’s video, which was directed by Railroad Pictures -- has almost half a million views on YouTube.

It’s their most popular song on the tubes followed by Freaky Friday featuring Eddy Kenzo, which has close to 300k views.

Bentiboys Africa's Wanawankya was among the songs that dropped first this year. The Daddy Andre-produced jam, has over a million views on YouTube and it was among the most trending songs on social media.

The duo also tapped Spice Diana to remix their banger titled Engine Ekyamuke. The song was produced by Andre on the Beat, real name Andrew Ojambo.

The video, which was directed by Heights Montage, has over 100k views.

Released six months ago, Party by Alien Skin -- has 2 million views on YouTube. It’s his most-watched video after Sitya Danger with 1.6 million views.

Other popular songs by Alien Skin this year are Twayisewo Dda, Tonzijukiza Lockdown, Private Part, I Am Me and Binyuma, a duet with Clever J; and Mitwe, another collabo with Dax Kartel.
