The musician, whose real name is Mark Bugembe says as part of the old Firebase, through which the NUP President Bobi Wine rose to fame, he and other former crew members deserve to be appreciated by the political establishment.
Just like the NUP pays its current administrators, he says, even he and the “old soldiers” deserve remuneration.
“We as Fire Base are the people who made Bobi Wine. That is why we, the old soldiers need to be on salary,” he said.
“You have to know that by the time the (new) politicians came along they found something complete and running,” Buchanan stated in an interview with Bukedde TV.

Out of pocket
Asked who exactly should foot the salary bill, he said, Bobi Wine himself should bear the burden.
“The principal should be the one paying us directly. If the others are getting a salary, the likes of Rubongoya and Joel Ssenyonyi, we too should."
On where Bobi Wine would source such money, having been banned by the government from holding music concerts, Bucha Man responded, “That man is known to be one of the wealthiest people we have in this country. He needs no more prayers.”
Bucha Man broke ties with the now opposition leader for whom he had served as Vice President during the Fire Base era.
He is currently President Yoweri Museveni’s advisor on ghetto affairs.
Bucha says he has not met or talked to Bobi Wine in years, but hopes to if the opposition strongman wishes.
