Flavia Tumusiime recounted how she once walked off an audition at NTV Uganda after she realized that the interviewer was a person with whom they weren't on the best of terms.

Flavia at the time had just finished university and was already thriving at Capital FM, but wanted to try out her chance on mainstream television.

NTV had just opened in Uganda and a lot of people had turned up to audition for a particular travel show.

While in the waiting area with the rest of the candidates, Flavia says she learned that Jackie Ssenyondo, the station Production Manager was the interviewer.

The two had worked together earlier at WBS TV and were not very fond of each other.

The moment I realized it was her, I knew for sure that even if I was the best talent here, there was no way I am getting that job,” Flavia recounted on Friday, on NTV’s Mwasuze Mutya morning show.

So, the moment she walked out and called for the next interviewee, I just grabbed my bag and left.”

Back at WBS where Flavia started off her media career as a teen’s show host, Jackie was a producer and production manager.

They did not see eye to eye, because Jackie did not consider her to be a serious person.

She thought was downright stupid…it’s not even that we had ever exchanged before, but she always communicated about how she felt about me,” she narrated.

Eventually, Flavia’s breakthrough came much later back at WBS where she was called in to do Karitas Karitsimbi’s K - Files.

Karitsimbi was going on a year-long maternity leave, but she ended up leaving the show for good.

Later on she would go not to be hired as a VJ on Channel O in South Africa.
