Don Nasser further remanded over aggravated trafficking

Don Nasser has been remanded to Luzira Prison until October 23, 2024, following his appearance in court on Tuesday, October 8.

The disgraced socialite is still on charges of aggravated trafficking in children and defilement of a 16-year-old girl.

Don Nasser is accused of working with Promise Gatete to transport a 16-year-old girl from Tagore apartments at Acacia Mall and holding her captive in the Kito-Kira division for three days. Both individuals have denied the charges but were remanded to Luzira prison, pending their appearance before the High Court for trial. The maximum penalty for this crime is death.

Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayiizi had on Monday, September 23, ordered their return to court on October 8, 2024, to monitor the progress of the ongoing investigation.

Tamale Mirundi Junior, who spoke to both Don Nasser and the parents of the 16-year-old girl, said in a live interview that the relationship between the two was discovered through phone conversations.

The father of the daughter is said to be a high-ranking security officer and he promised to ensure that Don Nasser is punished.

When Nasser was told that her parents had found out and he was being hunted, he fled to the Democratic Republic of Congo before moving to Kenya. News emerged on Saturday morning, September 21 that he had been arrested in Nairobi.

Meanwhile, singer Rickman Manrick accused Don Nasser of being a pedophile days after he was remanded to Luzria prison with charges of aggravated trafficking in children for sexual exploitation.
