Actuaries are business professionals who analyze the financial consequences of risk. They use mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to study uncertain future events, especially those related to insurance and pension programs.

The Prudential scheme is an initiative seeking to develop actuarial capacity in Uganda by rewarding excellence in actuarial science and supporting top graduating students with mentorship, internship opportunities and financial assistance to become certified actuaries.

Speaking at the event held to honour the five students and their parents at Makerere University, Tetteh Ayitevie, the CEO Prudential Assurance Uganda commended the five for their “exemplary dedication and passion for actuarial science”
