Pro boxer Musa Bwogi ‘Mayweather’, Police Constable Ivan Magumba fight for national title

Pro boxer Musa Bwogi will have to defeat to Police Constable Ivan Magumba to his first professional title.

The national super middleweight champion fight is slated for January 14, 2023 at Lugogo Indoor Arena with the Olympian facing Magumba in the 75Kg national title fight. ‘

Bwogi, popularly referred to as the ‘Mayweather of Uganda’ will be aiming for the national title after winning it all in the junior category. He won the 2016 Nile Special USPA Boxer of the year and floored Henry Mugarura to kick start his professional journey but is still short of the national title.

Speaking about the bout, Bwogi is confident of beating Magumba, a member of the Uganda Police Boxing Club, whom he says, he has defeated before in junior ranks.

“I know he is going to regret why he accepted to fight me”, he says.

Magumba promised to defeat Bwogi before the sixth round in the 10-round title fight.

However, Bwogi laughs at the utterance, confident of his crowning moment as a national champion.

“My opponent Magumba Ivan looked too beautiful and shining with a serious turfed face promising the crowd to knock me down less than in six (6) rounds. Good luck boss in your dreams”.

There will be a number of under-card fights on the night.
