Among the pilgrims, the first batch of 144 from the Diocese of Kakamega entered Uganda through Malaba.
Another 64 pilgrims from Kitale, Kenya, entered Uganda on May 25, through the Suam border in Bukwo district, joining other groups.
Additionally, 73 pilgrims from the Kenyan Catholic Dioceses of Kakamega, Eldoret, and Kiisi entered through the Busia border post on the same day, and 171 pilgrims from the Catholic Church of Eldoret, Kenya, also crossed into Uganda via Busia around 11 A.M.
In other parts of Uganda, 272 pilgrims from Kasese are being escorted, while the first group of 531 pilgrims from Nebbi passed through Nakasongola.
A large group of 900 pilgrims from Lira passed through Migyera, and 350 pilgrims from Gulu passed through Kafu.
Moreover, 200 pilgrims from the DRC, Rwanda, Kisoro district, and Rubanda district have passed through Masaka.

The Uganda Martyrs Children’s Day celebrations were successfully held on May 23 at the Anglican Site, with Bishop Emeritus Ssebagala James of Mukono Diocese leading prayers for over 4000 children from all dioceses of the Church of Uganda. They were accompanied by 489 teachers.
SCP Fred Enanga also offered safety tips for the pilgrims.
He advised them to walk on the opposite side of the road to see oncoming vehicles, travel in groups, walk in a row, wear high-visibility clothing, keep an eye on their belongings, and carry only small amounts of money for occasional expenses.
