Members of Parliament have voted to pass the Uganda People's Defence Forces (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
If enacted into law by President Yoweri Museveni, it will help better structure the organs and institutions of the armed forces.
It also seeks to clarify key components of military justice, such as service offences, courts-martial, military courts, and the reserve force, aligning them with constitutional provisions.
The Bill was tabled by Jacob Oboth-Oboth, the Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs.
