Gen David Ssejusa, the former coordinator of Uganda’s military intelligence, on Wednesday shared his hot take on supporters of Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kairugaba, slamming them for lacking a sense of originality.
Sejusa, who retired from the forces in May 2022, singled out the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs Balaam Baruhahara, a hard-line supporter of the CDF, calling him out for his over-the-top praises to the First Son.
In post X, Balaam had described Gen Kairugaba as the “commander of God’s army”
To this, Gen Sejusa responded by pointing out that such oulanding titles have been claimed by bloodthirsty subversives such as Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army.
“You call MK 'Commander of God's Army"? Why not try to be a bit more original?” charged Gen Sejusa.
“You know whose title that was? Joseph Kony,! He was Commander of God's Army: The Mighty Lord's Resistance Army”

Muhoozi Project
Gen Sejusa’s aversion to the president’s son is no secret. In 2013, he fell out with the government after penning an article accusing President Museveni of nepotism and plotting to hand over power to his son, in what he termed as the “Muhoozi Project”
He was subsequently forced to flee into exile in the UK, where he carried on with his crusade against Museveni’s government and even launched a political party known as the Freedom and Unity Front.
In December 2014, he returned from exile amid reports that he had struck a deal with the president and agreed to “renounce violence.”
