FULL LIST: Police unveils successful applicants for probationer constable

The Uganda Police Force has published the list of successful applicants who are invited for interviews for the position of Probationer Police Constable. Interviews will begin on April 28, 2025, according to a statement from the police.

In March 2025, Uganda Police revealed plans to recruit 10,000 probationer police constables. Brig. Gen. Jesse Kamunanwire, Director of Human Resource Management, confirmed that the recruitment was open to Ugandan citizens aged 18 to 25.

Applicants had to submit handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police, along with photocopies of academic documents, a National Identity Card, three passport-size photographs, an Identity Card or Introductory Letter from their previous school, and recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII, and RDC of their respective districts.

The complete application was to delivered to the Police District or Divisional Headquarters by Friday, March 21, 2025.

To qualify, applicants had to be Ugandan citizens with a valid National ID or a confirmation letter from NIRA. They had to have no criminal record, be physically and medically fit, and be willing to undertake police training. Recruits were advised that they need to be ready for long working hours in challenging conditions and may be deployed anywhere in the country.

Good communication skills were essential, and applicants were not to have served or be serving in any other security forces. Additionally, candidates had to hold a UCE certificate or its equivalent, obtained in a single sitting from 2020 onwards. Those under the traditional grading system must have at least four credits, including English or Mathematics, and a pass in the other subjects. Under the Competency-Based System, candidates had to have at least four 'C' grades, including English or Mathematics, with at least a ‘D’ in the remaining subjects.
