Why King Saha’s concert was postponed

Speaking on behalf of KT Event, the organisers of the concert, Edward Sendi said that doctors advised Saha to take time off performing so can he properly recuperate.

"We sat with him... and doctors advised that he rests from singing for a while so that he can recover properly, The only challenge is that to organise a concert, someone needs at least two months of promotion (media tours, meeting sponsors, rehearsals, activations, etc.)," Sendi said while speaking to media.

"And that couldn't be achieved when a musician is not in good condition. So, we decided to postpone the concert and we are yet to confirm a new date," he added.

Asked about the state of his health, Sendi said: "He looks good, he has no problem and he is following guidelines set by doctors. But he told me he is not feeling strong probably because of medication side effects. But he looks fine."

Saha, real name Mansour Ssemanda, was announced sick during the festive season and he spent some days at Nakasero Hospital.

King Saha has been one of the most sought-after artistes of recent and his new song Zakayo has been well received. At one point, people thought he would fill the gap left behind by the late Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo, aka Mozey Radio, of the Goodlyfe Crew because of sharing a similar voice.

His other hit songs include Biri Biri, Gundeeze, Sssala Puleesa, Sivaawo, On My Way, Hullo Hullo', Teddy Tereza and Bantu Baffe.

King Saha, who sings in diversified music genres, including Zouk, RnB, Reggae, Afrobeat and Bossanova, was born in 1989 and hails from Rakai district.

His music career started taking shape after joining a Makindye-based music group named Born Fire in 2011, but it was when his first hit single titled Mulirwana was released in 2014 that he made his mark in the industry.

The success of the song saw him organise a well-attended concert under the same name held at Freedom City in Kampala.

Before Mulirwana, Saha had released a song named Ritah, produced by Didi, followed by Swagger, a collaboration with Gravity Omutujju.

Then in 2013, Jose Chameleone scouted him after seeing him perform in Entebbe and asked him to join his record label Leone Island.

Saha would be managed by Sam Mukasa, who was also Chameleone's manager at the time, and, working with legendary music producer Paddy Man, they released songs like Sikyakusobola and Lwaki Tondiko.

Mukasa and Saha later left Leone to team up with Jeff Kiwanuka, who runs Team No Sleep.

After his 2014 successful concert, Saha released Gundeze and held another show under the same name in 2015 at Freedom City. It was a success.
