Johnnie Walker Uganda, through its She Walks programme, continues to amplify the voices of resilient women across different sectors.
On March 7, the initiative honoured outstanding women in marketing—those shaping brands, driving consumer engagement, and breaking barriers in the industry.
The event brought together both seasoned and upcoming marketers from finance, FMCG, telecom, media, tech, hospitality, and the creative industries.
It sparked a candid discussion on navigating the corporate world and stepping into leadership roles. The night was dedicated to empowering women to take bold steps towards securing top positions.
Under the theme “Bold and Brilliant: Good Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office,” the panel featured accomplished women marketers, including Belinda Agnes Namutebi, Coach Pamela Babirukamu, Mercy Sande Ainomugisha, and Emma Mugisha.
The speakers tackled key topics such as handling corporate politics, overcoming sceptics, increasing visibility, and standing out in competitive spaces. They also stressed the importance of mentorship, continuous self-improvement, and creating opportunities through entrepreneurship.

Catherine Ndungu, Marketing Director at Uganda Breweries Limited, praised the resilience of women in marketing, acknowledging their determination to challenge stereotypes and redefine leadership in a traditionally male-dominated field.
“Marketing demands creativity, agility, and perseverance. Women in this space have reinvented themselves, adapted to change, and proved they belong at the top. Their resilience speaks volumes, and Johnnie Walker is proud to celebrate their journeys,” she said.
Echoing her words, Christine Kyokunda, Brand Manager for Johnnie Walker Uganda, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to supporting women and creating platforms for their success.
“Marketing is both an art and a science, and the women in this room have mastered both. The path to leadership isn’t straight, but by embracing our brilliance and stepping forward boldly, we shape the future of the industry. Johnnie Walker is proud to walk this journey with you.”

To liven up the night, choreographer Valentino Richard Kabenge led an electrifying dance session to Vinka’s hit Bailando, getting attendees on their feet to celebrate their achievements.
The event also featured a whisky mentorship session led by UBL Reserve Brand Ambassador Melanie, who shared expert tips on how best to enjoy whisky.
This edition of She Walks marks the third leg of the programme, which began last year with a mission to highlight and celebrate women excelling in different fields. As Johnnie Walker continues its journey of championing women, She Walks remains a source of inspiration for those bold enough to step forward and claim their space.
