Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda accused President Museveni of watering down the presidential advisory role with the appointment of people such as Kenzo.

Unfit for the office

Drawing contrast with the first people who advised Mr Museveni decades ago, Nganda wondered how the musician could be considered to be in their league.

If you look at the quality of the first people to be appointed presidential advisors, the likes of Prof George Kanyeihamba, Gen David Sejusa and Ephraim Kamuntu…it demeans that office when you begin appointing people including those with no knowledge and experience and elevate them to be your advisors,” said the legislator.

I like Kenzo as a singer and he has value, but I don't think his value is in advising the president,” he added.

President Museveni is said to have over 150 advisors. Over the past years, in a bid to reach the younger voting demographic, Museveni has tapped a number of people from the arts industry to serve as his advisors.

These include among others, Catherine Kusasira, Mark Bugembe aka Buchaman and Jennifer Nakanguubi aka Full Figure.
