Eddy Kenzo, President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), has reached out to Jose Chameleone, seeking forgiveness for his absence at Entebbe Airport during the return of the legendary artist from the US.
Kenzo blamed the mishap on “miscommunication” within his federation.
He also revealed that he was engaged in other events in northern Uganda at the time, including a campaign trial for his wife, Phiona Nyamutoro.
Chameleone, who returned last weekend from the United States after undergoing treatment, revealed that he was hurt by the absence of the UNMF's absence, especially considering his role as one of the federation's founders.
He explained that he was surprised to learn the federation did not even send a representative.
Initially, he had asked his brother, Pallaso, the federation’s vice president, to convey his concerns, but Pallaso reportedly hesitated to do so.

Kenzo says sorry
Kenzo, however, explained that he was not around during the weekend
“I was in West Nile, we had the Peace Celebrations in Yumbe district,” he said.
)
“Then I had to go to Fifi’s constituency to help her with campaign mobilisation.”
While in West Nile, Kenzo says, he communicated with the Federation Vice President, Uncle P, about Chameleone’s return
“Unfortunately, there was miscommunication on what the secretariat was supposed to do because they said they were not properly guided by Uncle P.”
“Then, on the day of return, they reached out again to Uncle P, but he was not picking up his calls.”

Kenzo said he was sorry for the mishap and promised to make it right in the future.
“We love Chameleone, and he knows. We have stood with him in the past. During his travel, we were there for him, and even in the hospital, we made a contribution. We are always present at all his shows. We love him,” he added.
