Walker, who flew into Uganda on February 6, got time to sit down with Flavia Tumusiime for an interview on her show Desert Island Discs, which airs on Sundays at Capital FM.
The session should have been fun as Walker is seen singing for Tumusiime in a video shared on TikTok.
The broadcaster, who has worked with Channel 4 and BBC and mainly does commentary on Athletics, Triathlon, Snooker, Darts, Rugby and Boxing -- was invited by the government as part of its efforts to use high-profile figures to market the tourism sector.
While in Uganda, he met President Yoweri Museveni and a number of other senior government officials.
"I do hope that your stay here provides you with a thrilling experience of Uganda’s unique beauty, the warmth of its people, and the wealth of our culture," President Museveni said after their meeting.
He also met Olympic gold medalist Joshua Cheptegei, who has won medals during his commentary.
Tumusiime joined the media as a TV host with WBS TV at the age of 14, and she hosted a show called Teen’s Club.
When she was 18, she joined radio, starting with Hot100FM, which she left to join the Kisementi-based Capital Radio in 2006.
After "two to three years” in radio, Tumusiime has said, she landed a gig to work with Channel O that lasted “about four years.”
In 2015, she joined Nation Media Group-owned NTV Uganda where she anchored news and hosted a morning show. She left the Kampala Serena Hotel-based TV station in May of 2021.
She now hosts Desert Island Discs, previously presented by Simon Kasyate, who is now with Kampala Capital City Authority as head of Public and Corporate Affairs.
